Arriving by Air

The small airport of Puerto Escondido is a short distance from Casa Azul (but not to worry, we are happy to pick you up!).  The easiest and cheapest way to get here tends to be booking a flight to Mexico City and then using a regional airline to go from there to Puerto.  Interjet, Aeromar and Vivaaerobus airlines all serve Puerto Escondido from Mexico City.

We have found the most economic airline from Mexico City to be Vivaaerobus.  If you are not able to book online with Vivaaerobus, please contact us and we can arrange to make the booking for you.

If you will be arriving in Puerto by other means (car, bus, bike), let us know and we can coordinate your arrival.

Safety

You may have heard news reports about safety in Mexico. These issues are mostly in the north of Mexico.  Puerto is located in Oaxaca state, in the south. Is it safe? Yes!! Puerto Escondido is safe for solo and female travelers. Of course, normal caution and common sense should be exercised as in any city.
